I tried for 95# on snatch, but I think I wore myself out with starting at 75# and going up 5# each time, for 3. My 1RM a couple weeks ago was only 95#, so I didn’t think I’d get so close so soon. I am getting underneath it now and can feel the difference. Coach seems to think I could have a 115# as long as I’m not worn out. I’m not so sure about that, but I am glad he has some faith in me.
Overall, this was a fun one.

I liked this one a lot. Which is kind of funny, seeing as how I don’t like sprints. I should have done 255 but I think 185 was safe. Contemplated not doing it at all because of how sore I am. I’m trying to remember that most days I am sore and do a work out, I feel better.
Oh, also… Worked on some handstands. (I get scared or something. Hitting the wall that one time…) And kipping pull ups. Almost got one. Wee.
“Manion”
Seven rounds for time of: Run 400 meters 135 pound Back squat, 29 reps.
Cut off was 45 minutes, but I wanted to finish my 5th round. So 47 minutes. Used 95# and walked most of it. I wish I could have ran, but leg was not having it. Took an ice bath. Kept my knee highs on and bunched them up around my ankles. Much better. Least favorite part of the ice bath is definitely the soreness in my ankles.
Because Coley is a slacker…
This might be a bit too long, so just skip to the good stuff like weights and how I PR’d on OH squat finally…
I don’t remember when I did deadlift, but I remember it being a dumb idea. I was exhausted for some reason and pretty sure I pulled something. (not trying to be funny.)
Bench Press (2/28)
Squat (2/29)
Open:
12.1 (2/24) = 56. Definitely not proud. Afterwards, my head was spinning, vision was blurry, and I was coughing my lungs up.
12.2 (3/1) = 60. Definitely proud, but also frustrated that with 2 minutes left, I couldn’t get a singe snatch at 100#. Granted, it wasn’t long ago that I learned the movement and 75# was my max (I had done maybe 6 snatches total prior to this).
With my coach yelling at me and trying so hard to get me to just get 1 snatch at 100#, I failed each and every one of them. I know what to do, I just don’t know how to do it. I didn’t know anyone was video taping, but I saw it today and my frustration is even higher. To actually watch myself fail is hard to do. Learning experience.
About my injury or whatever:
Not sure how it happened, but my back, arm and ribs (right side) were killing me. The pain came on slowly, but by the peak of it, the ribs felt like someone took a bat and hit me. If I touched the spot, there was a burning feeling and it hurt my arm. I couldn’t lift my arm unless I really focused on it and it hurt like hell.
I should have been resting a lot more and now with 12.2 the pain in my arm is back (because someone doesn’t know how to snatch properly, obviously).
During this time, I isolated myself from people aside from Loren and it was very weird. I found myself thinking a lot more. Questions like “Who am I? What are my goals? What do I want? What is my purpose in life? Why do I find it so difficult to get along with people?” And no, I was not high and/or drunk. I was sober… and crazy apparently. Maybe I’ll write more on this subject later.
One of the best things that happened lately (well, today at least)? I PR’d my OH squat finally! At the park, none the less. I was stuck at 45# and even then, ended up on my ass most of the time. I got 75#. Still not a whole lot, but I think I am “getting it” or at the very least, I’m not afraid to try it as long as I can get the bar over my head.

I deadlifted 315#!!!
Sorry I keep repeating myself, I’m just so excited about it. Goal since I started. :D
30# PR. The first attempt my grip slipped just before lock out. Grip started to go on the 2nd attempt, but some how I made it.
I also got a 95# press (5# PR) and my squat was 185#. :( I went for 215 twice, but I was in my head too much. It would have been a 5# PR.
Oh, and for max height box jump, 25.5. Jumping is not a strong point ;)
Loren hit PRs as well. He is now in the 500# deadlift club. Congrats babe!

Not much to say. I was aiming for 6.
Deadlift
It was as if I couldn’t focus and my body was not having it today. Before I started lifting I was hoping for 6. During warm up I began thinking just the 3 would be great. So, I’ll take my 4. I tried for a 5th but I just didn’t have it in me.
